13-year-old Nelly has to spend her summer holidays with her parents in Romania. Instead of landing at the airport they land on an airfield in the middle of nowhere. This is where the greatest adventure of her life begins, she runs away, makes friends and discovers Romania.
13-year old Nelly Klabund is furious! Against her will she is forced to spend her summer vacation in Romania. Right from the start things go wrong: The plane makes an unscheduled landing in Walachia and then the alleged travel guide Holzinger accidentally let’s Nelly in on a secret: Her family is to move to Transilvania in Romania, because her father will be taking up a great new job there. Nelly is shocked! How could her parents deceive her like that? Is she supposed to give up her entire life – her friends, school, the skate park? Never!
Nelly goes ballistic, runs away and wanders through a strange city in Romania. Here she runs into two really shady figures. These two turn out to be the nasty scoundrels Hokus and Iancu, who kidnap Nelly and hide her in a remote Roma-village. Here Nelly gets to know an unknown world and makes friends with the mysterious Tibi and his sister Roxana. The adventure begins, when these two decide to help Nelly escape. A wild chase through Transylvania ensues, because the kidnappers, working for a ruthless entrepreneur, are not yet ready to give up.
