No God Area

“The people here forgot that they have forgotten about God” states the bishop of the German federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. 40 years of socialism have transformed this region into a “No God Area”.
That is why the missionary Jakob Walter from Baden-Württemberg, who had been converting the “cannibals” of Papua-New-Guinea shortly before, was sent to the statistically even less believing inhabitants of the former GDR. The film deals with belief on the one and the “yet-to-be-converted” on the other side: What is it like to be the focus of a missionary?
